Hey all,

Quick question, I have a 93 atx and I have been having a problem with smoke coming from the timing belt area. A new belt was put on last year. and the engine prob has about 45k miles on it (not sure on mileage, Dealer put a salvage engine in and they said it had 30k on it). I am not sure what exactly the smoke smells like but its not an antifreeze smell, it only smokes when I first start it, then goes away. DO I need timing belt tensioner pulleys? I am gonna pull off the top cover this week when I get a chance.

thx in advance

I have no idea, but can you figure if it's coming from the upper end, or the lower end? How about the color? White, blue or black. I hope this helps someone to help you.

It could be a coolant leak of sorts in the same area which is burning off and looking like it could be a timing belt issue.
