Here is my situation.

I have a 94 SHO. It has about 140k on it.
I have owned it for about a year, but due to my in-laws not knowing how to take care of things, they have been using it since January.

I bought it in July last year with 101k miles. There were some cometic things wrong with the car, and a fwe minor mechanical issues, but nothing to bad. Since my inlaws have had it, there have been a series of things wrong (some of the below was wrong even before they got it....but not much). They put a TON of highway miles on it.

1...the Alternator is going (or so I am told)
2...I am getting check engine light (codes say an o2 sensor and i forget the other sensor)
3...the passenger fender needs replaced.
4...the blower control unit for the eatc needs replaced.
5...air not working at all right now...I am not sure if it just needs recharged or if something is actually wrong.
6...needs weather stripping on 2 of the doors replaced.
7...needs a new hood.
8...it is AT LEAST 25k overdue for a full 60k service.
9...MPG sucks right now. When I had it I was gettign 22-23 mpg on the hiway. Now I am told that they are only getting like 14 mpg.

I have not gotten the car back yet, but I am told that I will have it mon or tues. I really like the SHO's I like haveing a sleeper hotrod...but there are a few for sale for 2000-3000. I am not sure if I am better patching this one and dumping it, or if it is worth actually trying to fix? Ideas? thoughts? opinions?

WARNING....if you tell me to fix it...expect me to drive you NUTS with questions over the next couple of months.
:D

Get the O2 sensors replaced. Very easy DIY. AZ sells the Bosch which are good and about $40 each. These should help with the gas mileage. If you are behind on the maint I am sure this has big effect on your MPG.

I am a fanatic about fixing things right away, no matter what it is. When you put things off, your list builds to point where you think it may be better to sell. You must ask yourself "would you buy your car with that many issues".

I would get the O2s replaced, start on your maint, and look into getting the AC and blower fixed before it gets too hot.

Good luck.

CE light = run codes (you said you did)

You say codes point to O2 sensor and your getting bad gas mileage......start there.

Post a want to buy here for an alternator and blower control module, i bet you could get a pretty good deal. There is always a SHO being parted out in the classifieds section, you could also get your weatherstripping.

Check your local junkyards for some Gen II SHOs that you could use some body parts you need off of.

My opinion: Fix it especially if you can find a SHO in a junkyard in your area for parts (fender, alternator, blower control, weatherstripping, hood)

So look around for some parts and start some maintenance starting with the O2 sensors

Blower control: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...tem=2480940335&category=50459&sspagename=WDVW

O2 sensors: 3.0L Bosch 13942, AutoZone $38.99 ea. (2 required)
