Has anyone put one of the SHO V8 in a Ranger pickup? That should make a real HAULER. Will the V8 bolt to a Ranger V6 5 speed tranny and bell housing?

I don't think the Duratec (which is basically what the SHO V8 is) and the vulcan share a bolt pattern. Besides, you'd be wiser to use the V6, since there's more aftermarket support, it looks better in a North/South config, and there's more mods available. The biggie is, it's already been done in several RWD applications.

I'm sure a kindly word to a mod would take care of the location issue...now...back on topic, gentlemen...

Basically what it boils down is this....do you want a 260hp (with tune and exhaust mods) ranger that cost a shit-ton of money to custom fab up, or do you want a moddable V6 that didn't cost nearly as much?

FWIW, if you're REALLY looking to make power in a ranger, swap either a 2.3 turbo motor or a 302, both are easier, cheaper, easier to find and make a shit-ton more power.
