I jsut had my cams welded by Mike and Victor of SHO Parts NW. Everything went well with the weld.

At the same time I had him install the new 8 coils I bought from "alanisdeals" on ebay. One of the coils was bad, and of course, it wound up being on the rear bank. Mike offered to help me do that for me so I brought the car back to him and he did the vast majority of the work. It's nice having someone who's done this a few times take you though it.

The coils cost $280 for the set and looked to be seconds, which was fine. There were a couple cosmetic blemishies. Alanisdeals offers a 12 month warranty on them, so I'll be sending one back.

I do think it's worth the risk of having to replace even a rear coil to save $500+ on the coils.
