I would like to buy just the sizes I need as opposed to a 48 shim pack.

Check out SHO Nut . Josh sells them individually under the 60k section for $3.42 each.

I must add also that I've had nothing but wonderful service from him. Top knotch business IMO. thumbs_u

I have purchased through SHO NUT several times for the $3.42 price, but FordPartsOnline also sells them and charges only $3.12. The only catch is that it is not as easy to specify the sizes you want. Someone on the Forum has done it so maybe he'll chimne in and provide the details how to do that.

I think the SP or Sho Nut kit is probably a better idea if you want to save money. To have the proper sized shims handy before you open it up, you would have to buy several of each shim size and eat the cost of the leftovers. If this isn't your daily driver and you can order only the shims you need or don't mind extra shims eating into your bank account then get yourself a bunch of new ones.

From the info I got from FPN the shim part numbers/sizes go as follows. The part number of the shims is E9DZ-6515-*. The * symbol = N-EA which goes from shim size N of 2.300- shim size EA of 2.675. Each letter increasing by .025 in thickness. However I was informed sizes N-R (2.300-2.350) (letter O not used)are no longer available in the Ford listing. So sizes 2.375-2.675 are the ones available through Ford.

luigisho,

Keep in mind those are metric measurements you posted .025 metric = .001 US
For example if you measure the intake at .010 and pull out a 2500 shim you can install a 2575 to bring the final gap to .007

If you can get hooked up with a wholesale/business account at a Ford dealer you can pick up the shims for $3.04, I make sure to stocked up my kit after every valve adjustment I do.
