When instaling the FPS style SFC's, what points in the chassis do I use to jack the car up? I want to go with the pre-loaded chassis setup. Thanx in advance.

Can I ask how the car feels after you install the SBC's? Stiffer. Smoother. Bouncy? Uglier?

I'll let you know when I get mine installed this week or next.

I, too, bought a set from Nook. I'll be calling in payment this Wednesday, so I'll have them by Friday, and probably installed within a week or so.

I have shorties. The car was much stiffer, and with stock slicers & tires, it is smoother on most bumps. Ride harshness increases a little more than with 17" wheels alone, but like I said, stock is good. Take a few offramp corners at 10+mph higher than normal without the pit in your stomach & you'll be saying, "what ride harshness" with a big smile on your face.

what's estimated install time for SFC's?
The local mustang performance shop guessed about 2 hours, and at 70bucks/hr, that's looking to be an expensive install.
He also laughed at me and asked me why I wanted them on my FWD, then I explained it wasn't for increasing 1/4 mile times, but for better handling.

From a guy who's done it, 2hrs is more realistic. By the time you grind the paint off the car, move the fuel lines, test fit, weld, clean the welds, paint the connectors, put the fuel lines back, you've used all of two hours.

Add to that: modify a exhaust hanger, relocate battery cable (my battery's in the trunk), and seal the ends of the connectors and I spent 4 Hrs & 2 beers.

True, but most of that work can be done by YOU, not by the $60-75/hr shop. The welding alone should not take even an hour. Martin, come up to Tulsa and get them installed at my preffered shop for only $35. Then we can try them out on that awesome route again (this time with my coilovers

from a person who has had both kinds and none installed, i would have to say the long ones work better than short ones do. all things the same i incresed my exit speed on 'laylin RD. raceway' by about 5 mph. not sientific but this is about what i remember.

stock (-eibach,-stb's) 45mph
shortie style ~55mph
Long style ~60mph

i ran 55mph in a nissan wagon, and it takes a beefed up SHO to beat that speed.

I wish I could take a week and do that. That road alone would be worth it!

That doesn't sound good. Do you think a muffler shop would be the best place to have this done? I'm getting mine next week, but was hoping I wouldn't have to spend more on the labor, then on the parts.

I wouldn't trust a muffler shop to this job. Also, most probably wouldn't do it.

Find a high performance shop, or a Mustang shop. They will know exactly what you want and do it properly.

My '91 SHO feels like it was carved from a single block of steel. All the body squeeks and creaks are gone. I hook up better too.

That's what I'm hoping for. I bought a set for my car and my dad's several months ago and then I've never had the chance to have them installed. I'm hoping to find a place while I'm off for Christmas.
