Hey I see that superchargedshoguy has done this I am planing on doing the same type on conversion with my 93. But I am planing on using a 450hp 351w and a live 8.8 axle no IFS here (just to weak). I will be using an 85 lx mustang donor car. What do yall think. Tips or tricks. My brother keeps telling me to twin turbo the 3.0 that came out but I already have the 351w and I know how expensive these yamaha's are scence I have had mine for 10yrs. I will post pics soon.

Why is it that us in fla atemp this crazy shit.

Thats funny considering the IRS can survive fine under a 03-04 cobra rated at 390hp but were actually making about 430 horses, just takes a few things to make em last when ya really crank the boost up.And we aren't talkin about a light car either! If you go head keep us posted with pics please.I am gonna do a DOHC with a mustang style K member into one of mine next summer, and yes there will be more than one turbo and it will have a IRS under it .Good luck have fun and hurry up! :salute: carry on troop

Yeah.. I personally HATE the IRS the Cobras' had. It's a PITA to make adjustments, The eccentrics don't like moving very easily and their locations (in a Mustang, at least) are pretty crappy. I'd much rather see a SHO with a Vettes' Monoleaf suspension! :D

Whatever happened to SHOguys' SHO? Has been been much of a success? Only had seen the car in the one clip with him in the grass.. Is it street worthy?

Removing the SHO motor kinda makes the car well...not a SHO.
There are other cars with much better chassis out there.

Yes this is true but the 351w complete. The 3.0L I took out is getting a rebuild and being put in the sho that I am driving now. Plus I am in the process of working out a deal for another sho.

And thanks for pointing out the IFS IRS long long day

+1

Street rod guys put together all kinds of weird combos. Good for them, boring to me.

I'm glad that someone put the work into a RWD SHO, but it had zero interest for me.

If I was walking around a local cruise night and saw a RWD Taurus with a V8, I would hardly break my stride walking past and mutter to myself "someone with more time on their hands than sense".

I have no prob w/the swap idea, go for it if that's what you want to do, just can't be called a SHO, afterall the name came from the engines, so it wouldn't exist w/o one.

I parted mine out. Still have some stuff and put the bolt on trans on flea bay. Its a tough task. A few others are attempting it. Mine was completed and drove for a year before it met its maker due to my need to go over the top.

Alright so yall have talked me into puting the 3.0 back into it. Curently I am rebuilding the motor out of it to go into my 92. So when I swap it out I will rebuild the 92 motor to put in.

But it the meen time I will be mocking it up and first building it with the 351w just so I have that option and I already have the motor and trans for it here so its easier right now.

But I will be going full frame and front and rear frame rails so I will be able to put both motors in it. Also coilover on front with Upper a-arms and strut type lowers. I will have to move the firewall back 5in to get the c/g better. It will look stock on the outside and most of the inside (love the sleeper look) other than the cage to tie it all together.

I would post some pics but its just gutted out right now (not much to look at)
getting ready to move it into one of my bays.

I think I will start a new thread when I get some of the frame in.

man I could be interested in awhile. So have some fun with it for awhile and don't blow it up! That was a decent running motor, and with the addition of the +40's........... could be fun

I did have fun with it. It has been refreshed with new bearings and some seals again.
