Today i did the upper 60k on my 94 MTX and all went well. I went to start it and it started fine but it will not idle normaly. It runs around 500-650 and it is very rough. it almost sounds as if it is misfireing however i know it is not. The car runs fine from 1500 to redline however when i stop at a light the engine wants to die. There is no other problems with the car except for this. I am sure i hooked up all the lines and plugs correctly. What could be the problem? I need advice quick seeing as i need teh car tonight.

Ok i did that and it still is having problems. I am thinking there is a leak in a vacuum hose somewhere due to a very firm and unresponsive break pedal under 1500 rpms. I did pull a few codes already however there was none related to the problems i am having. For a while, it was running half way decent. I figured the computer was re-learning all of its perameters after had plugged the battery in again. Now it is all screwed up again. Which vacum hose would be the most likely to be the one causing problems?

recheck all the spark plug wires in thier right places, and pushed onto there plugs properly. recheck all the vacuum lines, and make sure the intake is on tight (re torque it maybe?)

oh when you pulled the spark plugs out to replace them (you did replace them right? and plug wires too?), was there any oil in the plug wells that leaked into the cylinder?

check the wires on the front of the engine.... i belive it runs 4 5 6 from left to right and on the coil it runs 465... dunno why its like that but ive done it before and missed and ran rough prolly your problem recheck everything too there are only like 3 or 4 vacum lines you have to disconect too.

I checked all of the wires.. All of them are in teh correct fireing order. There was no oil or anything in any of the plug wells before i pulled the old plugs. After i revisited the TB, i am thinking i switched a coolant line with a vacuum line since the coolant hose up top collapses while driving above 4k. One problem... I took all the lines off of the intake and replaced them in the correct order and i am still having problems. Do you think that possibly the intake being incorrectly set could cause of of these problems?

Side note: I decided to do a little experimentation today to try to find the problem. After i ran the car enough to fully warm it up, i pulled over and disconnected the MAF sensor to see what would happen. As i unplugged it, the engine ran smoother but still a little slow and rough. I plugged it back in and the engine went back to its normal rough idle around 400 rpms. I also figured something was up with the IAB... After tinkering with that, it only made problems worse so i left that alone. I am going to clean out my MAF and MAP sensors right now and if that does not work, i will be reinstalling the intake...

So much for an easy tune-up hahahaha
