I just got a Jose shorty shifter and bushing set. Is there any thing else I should do while I'm at it.

Thanks

id get a new bushing for the stabilizer rod.
the one the large bolt goes through into the transmission.
i replaced that with an energy suspension bushing that seemed to firm up the shifter feel some.

FWIK Jose does not sell the bushing that i was speaking of.
you have to get it through energy suspension or SHOsource.

I believe the OP is speaking of the delrin bushing and oversize clevis that Jose offers. But while you are under there you can check the condition of where the shifter mounts to the trans. A lot of times you can break that boss because of hard shifting or sometimes the bolt strips itself out. Jose make a boss brace if you have the extra dough it is completely worth it. GL with the install.

Just what you said I do want to do the brace later on. Just wandering what else to look at while under there. I think with the delrin bushing and the shorty shifter it should be real nice shifting:3gears:

Oh yea it will feel a lot better than stock because I have Jose's SHOrt Shifter with braces, the delrin bushing and clevis and the transmission boss brace and the car shifts better than i could ever remember. I had to grind down a few spots on the boss brace because it interfered with the linkage but i don't think you will have that problem. While you have the car in the air you should change the trans fluid, I use Valvoline Mercon V, if it hasn't been done recently because that will help with smooth shifting also.
