So.. is there any way to replace a rear fender? I see it goes all the way from the rear bumper to the front..

If it's damaged, does that mean the car is totaled?

Sorry.. not the rocker panel.. but the rear fender (I don't think they are both the same are they?)

So.. if one has no experience with replacing body damage, this wouldn't be a good job to do?

Also, how much (on average) would it cost for a body shop to replace it/repair it?

I had mine replaced but it wasn't from an accident. I had it replaced due to rust and it was about $1,100. I was quoted any where for $800-$1,100 and I went with the higher qoute because they were a very reputable body shop and if you look at my car you would never be able to tell that it was replaced. I also live in Mass. so body shops in your area may differ in prices.

the rocker panels are under the doors were the skirt hangs ,,the rear fenders are called the quarter panel and yes they can be chaged ,,what they do is cut and weld ,,and it can get pricey ,,,over 1000 for sure unless u have friends in the body trade ....

You can get spot weld drills and drill the welds attaching the panel, then weld on the new one, if you feel very adventurous. Not really a beginner bodywork project though.

How bad is the damage? Could it be repaired instead of replacing it? Let us see a picture.

Find a rust free southern car and do a swap. Better yet get Kirk to source a good chassis and get him to do a 5 speed swap at the same time. I'm tempted to do that. My car is beyond done.

Good question. I need to have my driver QP replaced/repaired as I backed into the Ex's car in June.

Thanks to those who have replied.

Lol Ian.. I think that's a little pricey for a quarter panel :D

Well, this year it's quarter panels. Next year fuel tank. The year after subframe... etc, etc.

For the slightly more than a shop would charge you to do the rocker panels Kirk, er make that Chris, could swap your hardware into a new chassis. That's the beauty of cam failed cars.
