I would probably say that the front bank is #1,and the rear bank is set #2. That makes sense to me,anyway.

The code explanations for the Gen Is are more explicit (front/rear). I thought bank 1 would be cylinders 1-3 and bank 2 would be 4-6. That would make the front bank 2 and the bank by the firewall be 1. Can anybody else provide a solid answer to this question?

I've been all through the registry goody books and still can't find the info on which bank is which. I'd suggest call a Ford dealer. I'm sure they can tell you. Well, maybe

Take a blind stab in the dark......go with what Scott thinks......rear bank is cylinder 1 through 3......that would tell me it is bank 1.....but, if that is incorrect, the O2 sensors for the front and rear banks are different, so you'd have to eat the cost of the sensor. If memory serves me correct, you can buy both for $80. Or was that about $80 a piece......sorry, not much help here......

Rear bank=1
Front bank=2

Bank two is easy to do. Just a 7/8 and about five minutes. Bank one kinda suck compared to bank two.
