*phew* It's done!

I went to the parts store and I was not able to find an "anerobic sealer", however the seal is in and there is no leaking at all.

Thanks for the help everyone!

*edit*

So anyway. Well as you know I had the whole car buttoned up, and after driving it for a couple miles I realized that yes, I do like this car and yes, and do want to take it apart again. So as soon as I got home from my overnight shift, I pulled into the garage and tore into it.

I tell you, I could now replace a passenger side halfshaft in about 20 minutes!

I got in there and pulled the seal, and of course this time it's going to be even more fun since I have tranny fluid slowly leaking all over me. It took at least 8 more attempts before I got it right. The tool used was a peice of 2" PVC and a cap on the end. The cap provided a much better striking surface, but I was still plaqued by the lack of room.

Finally, after some failed attempts, I got it in by making sure that the pipe was flat against the seal the whole time. The seal did not go in straight, it seems like one side went in followed by the other, which is what kept happening. Finally I just kept going even thought it was going in straight, but by keeping the pipe on there it pressed it in all the way.

I then cleaned and lubed the shaft up really well, and slowly and carefull slid it in. (hmmm... that sounded really dirty... but anyway...) I filled the tranny back up, then got under there and watched to make sure I didn't have any leaks.

Satisfied, I buttoned it back up, drove it around, and after a day I'm happy to say that it hasn't leaked a drop! :D

PS: Hang in there Bizzy, I know it's hard when you're car isn't working for a long time, but it will make you smile again soon! :thumb:
