I'm building it as I type this! Jason Zuress(YamahaSHO) is helping me out.

Short block is assembled, heads are assembled and ready to bolt on, I need to install the rear main carrier(front and rear main seals too) and the oil pan. the valve lash needs to be done, and the dual core radiator needs to be installed still as well. The motor is going in today if I have anything to say about it, and I'm hoping to have the car running tonight. I've got a drag race to go to on Sunday! If it's not done tonight, I won't be drag racing till next friday and I'll finish the car this sunday. Either way, I will try to take some pics and videos later of the new setup.

New specs are 3.23L(92.5mm bore), 9.5:1 CR forged Wiseco pistons
Flash ground, shot peened and resized 3.2 rods with new wrist pin bushings
balanced rotating assembly with a 3.0 crank

old stuff still is the car include(but are not limited to):
Heavily ported/polished/gasket matched intake and heads
44 lb/hr accel injectors with adj/ FPR and 255 lph pump
remote turbo setup with t3/t4 60 trim turbo.

I'll be adding water injection and a few little things here and there once the build is over and the break in is complete...

stock is 9.8:1 and I wanted slightly lower. I didn't want to go to low on the CR because even with the stock CR, higher boost levels are still ok. I am planning on running more boost than most people even think/dream about(on a SHO) though so I figured slightly lower CR wouldn't hurt.

Well, the motor is almost done. I still have a few seals, sensors, and the oil pan to put on among other things. I'm about to go put the last exhaust manifold on, and the valve covers, then the front end(and brackets). It seems like I have so much more to do, but with all I've done, it feels like she's about ready to start...

well all I have to do to get it running is put the hood on, the fan, accessory belts, some sensors and add fluids. I'm going to remove the turbo as some things fell into the exhaust while I was working on it. Since the exhaust shop decided to weld my y-pipe to the catback, I have to blow it out with the engine... once it's started I'll check for leaks, rev it in nuetral to say, 4 or 5 grand, then shut it off, and install the turbo again. once that's done, it's time to break it in and have some fun!!!!!!! No pics yet, but I will add some soon.

Kenny, I will give you a ride next time I see you...

Just curious, how many remote turbo SHO's are there up and running...??? And what's the verdict on them.....

I've thought about doing this for a long time mainly becuase I'd thought it'd be quite a bit easier than a 'front' mouted turbo. However, eveyone that I talked to said it wouldn't work, so I sort of gave up on the idea. Then I saw a video of a Mocha first gen with a remote turbo on streetfire, and damn was I impressed.....:dribble:

The mocha gen one on streetfire is my car. I'm the only remote turbo sho on the road.

The beast lives again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got her all buttoned up tonight and drove it for a little bit. I had some small issues but most of them are worked out. The main issue I'm having now is my BOV is not holding boost anymore. But before I blew out the seal on it, I fixed a few issues I had been having from before. My boost creep issue that I was having(more boost in higher gears) is now gone. I hit a consistent 12 psi in all gears. lag is almost gone and I hit 12 psi by 6,000 rpm in first. My issue was that I had a few exhaust leaks. I welded those up and boost comes quicker and I keep consistent boost throughout all the gears! I'm going to look into a better bov to fix it. Once that is done, I'll be upping the boost to 15 or so. When I brake boosted I stayed right next to jason(yamahasho) throughout second gear... I'm pleased.......

So as far as the remote setup is concerned, do you have it 'figured out' yet or are you still testing/trying different things...?

And BTW, way to go for trying something different..... :thumb:

I want to see pictures of the completed rear setup. So Are you running an intercooler on this or just letting the extended charge pipes naturally cool under the car? I don't quite remember your whole setup from before but I still want to see it again. Also do you have a delay timer to keep the Oil Return Pump running after the car shuts off?

with out a 2bar map how do you go about tunning for boost on a MAF controled set up? speed density is all i have tuned in the past.

The car runs very strong. I knew it would and Scott finally saw in action. We had a few good runs. He hits 12 PSI around 5,500 RPM in first (sooner in higher gears) where as I ht 12 PSI around 6,800 - 7,000 RPM. I also blew my MAF gasket completely out, so I may get more boost when I fix that.

Now all I need to do is tune my car and get it up to 26 or so degrees of total timing, instead of the 22 I have now, plus up my rev limiter to 8,000 again... Then we can race.

I did, however, embarass a GTO on my way over to Scott's. It was fun.
