Hey guys I have an interesting situation going on with my 2013PP SHO. I have two different key fobs for the car that are both programmed properly (they unlock and lock doors pop trunk start the car through the push button). However the weird thing is that one will remote start the car the other will only do it occasionally. Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you tested each FOB from the same distance and same circumstance?

Used to be a valet and ran into this all the time. First obvious thing to do would be to change the battery on the fob, really easy to do and inexpensive. Also try doing longer key presses with the fob. Sometimes on older fobs or ones with low battery the car would register the signal better if you press the keys in for a slightly longer time instead of just tapping the buttons. Those are two things I can think of doing off the top of my head

They are installed correctly otherwise every other function on the remote wouldn’t work but it does unlock and lock from distance as well as detect the key fob in order to start the car.

Yeah I can stand in the same spot with both sets of keys and one will remote start one will not. Both have brand new batteries.

I think you just have a bum fob. With all the other buttons working, the remote start button on the one may just be bad or the fob itself it faulted in some way.

I dont remember if the 13 had the rectangular fob, or the rounded top one, but you might be able to disasemble the fob to see whats up.

Hold the fob against your chin when you push the lock and remote start buttons for some extra yardage.....it works, really!

Yes it does actually work. They did it on Myth Busters so I started doing it at work to find cars on the lot with the panic button, sure enough although you look stupid doing it, it's good for an extra 40ft or so. Fwiw, our remote start feature is kind of marginal.
