NICE! Remember guys, the turbo cost less than a Vortech, in terms of power it takes to spin it. While I have no hard data, simply the fact that my injectors were only @ 77% DC at 400whp is telling. I would be willing to bet that similar setups, same WHP, that a Vortech unit is making 40 or more crank HP than a turbo unit, and therefore has higher fuel and air needs, so in turn they max out injectors sooner. Heck, with a well used 190lph pump, stock FP, the car was seeing 25+psi on the 62-1 with no ill effects (save for shredding 3rd), which likely well north of 500whp. I am not thinking I would feel comfortable making that kind of power on a 190lph pump in a SC car.

Either way, I would upgrade to 48's strings, give yourself room to grow. Glad to hear she is running good. Think you will make it to SORC this year? I would love to take another spin in that thing.

I agree that the turbo doesn't drag power, however, 44lbs injectors at 21 PSI is pushing the limits no matter how you look at it. I've tuned that car and I'm pretty sure I've seen higher DC% than that.

You're coming out FOKKER! You gotta have a reason to come visit me and I can't think any other attraction to bring you to BFE.

Very nice car/setup.

I must say I am quite shocked to see how many FI SHO's are on this site now. When I left (3+ yrs ago) Toolman was the ONLY turbo. And I cant remember his name but there was one (other than Josh@SHONut) with an SC.

Quite impressive to see the boosted cars in force here, and this one does not disappoint!

ok, so, I went out and datalogged a little bit the other day. didn't really have the room to do a 4th gear pull, but in 3rd at about 18-19 psi, I only saw a max of 77% DC.

ooops, I keep forgetting this, sometimes I just see the numbers and respond.
40 HP is a good guess on the parasitic drag on peak HP and above. From calculations on my race SHO, using air flow and injector duty, I'm seeing ~600 cHP, but only putting down ~485 wHP (no + NOS figure). Plus, injector duty is dependent on where the peak HP occurs and what RPM you are running. With a given wHP, lower the peak HP in the RPM band, lower the duty cycle.
