Rebuilding front motor mount

I’ve done some searching, and it appears that I need some sway bar bushings and bolts to get the front motor mount to do its job. I really don’t want to shell out $200 for some professionally reinforced ones . Rock auto has front and rear bushings. Which do I need and how many?
(My exhaust cracked on the engine side of the y pipe ******. I had it fixed/welded. After a few days, the weld broke free. He welded it again. It broke free. So then he welded in some flex pipe. This is holding up, but I assume my 28 yr old motor mounts need replaced)

You can get the front for 120ish from shosource with a refundable core charge. The SHONUT mount is around 200. That's alot of movement to keep cracking the pipe. There is usually enough flex built in for some movement.

For sway bar bushings you need to get the correct bushing for the diameter of the sway bar. I used an el cheapo caliper from harbor freight to get the diameter on my cars, but there are other methods.

Try drilling down into the forum archived posts and you may find ones that talk about DIY reinforcing mounts at home. These are probably really old and may have been lost in one of the forum crashes years back. Replacing the original bolt or whatever the cross bolt/pin looking thing is. Pouring different urethanes and all kinds of stuff tried and posted back then.

Yeah, that’s what I was meaning. I read where it appeared that people were replacing the bolt and the pin? and added an end link bushing... seems easy enough???

It actually does not seem that hard except getting the correct pour-able material. Probably some time and money invested through trial and error. Information is out there. Not limited to this car. There should be other car platforms that did similar stuff. Maybe just a lot of internet time. or not
