As the title says it's time to have the trans. rebuilt again. We bought the car bout two years ago from a little old lady who drove between NC and Fla. She had paid for a overhaul only a year before and it had lost OD. We were able to drive the car for 3-4 months then 3rd went out. Bought a replacement from a yard here in NC. Now all the car can do is 1st/Rev. We drive the car as comfortable transportation. Now to the question can a "reputable shop" be found and a standard overhaul last more than a year?? The car is driven mostly by the wife and she has the grandson's along alot and reliable is more the KEY here. I can do probably most of the grunt work in pulling and replacing it in the car but I would not like to pay 1.5-2k for another rebuild and it only last a year. Recomendations in the NC area of workers worth there pay?

thanks for the time it takes to read all this and your help.
