I just took off my wheel to measure for which koni inserts I need, and noticed the end of what I believe is the Rear sway bar is not connected to anything.

What's worse is, I can't see where it's supposed to mount... can anyone tell me or show me a picture of where this is supposed to mount?

THANKS FOR THE HELP...

Sounds like you need a new endlink. It attaches the sway bar end to the strut via a rod with four bushings. Hopefully the other side is still attached so you can see how it's oriented. It should look something like this:

I'll check that, it does look familiar, so I might be alright. All I saw was the end of the sway bar with a big hole in it like something was supposed to go through it, but there was nothing going through it. I'll take the wheel off again tomorrow and take a closer look.

Have you felt any clunking from the backend when going over bumps? Thats about the only noise I could describe what it feels like when the endlink has gone out.

I do hear a clunk every now and then, but i wasn't planning on addressing that until I had good springs on the car as I'm guessing that is a lot of the problem, but it very well could be related to this.

However, I did get a picture of what I've found, but I don't know how to upload it from my cpu to the forum. any ideas? I can email it pretty easy... it's in jpeg format the way it stands.

If you look at the sway bar hole, then look up to the strut, you will see where it attached to.

Also, if you haven't noticed, that little endlink will throw your handling right out the window.

Change them both with good quality pieces. Night-and-day difference if you ask me :)

Alright, Jelloslug helped me troubleshoot this... as it turns out the rear endlink broke and apparently the bushings slid off somewhere while driving.

I'm already set up with a replacement endlink, but I'd thought I'd mention what happened for the search feature's benefit... thumb

Thanks for the input, guys... =)

Even better, my buddy had a shop put in springs and struts in the rear and at the same time had them change out the sway bar endlinks to make things simpler for them with installation. Turns out when we took the right rear wheel off to look at a brake problem that they either lost or never installed the lower most bushing on the right rear side. It's been causing a lot of play in the endlink and there is a definite metal clunk from that side. Anyone know if you can buy a single swaybar endlink bushing? Anyone happen to have an extra? It'd suck to have to buy a set just to replace one.

You can get replacement endlinks REAL CHEAP at O'Reillys.

Their AutoDrive branded link is the same as the Moog with the TPR bushings. Under $10 per side.

Erik, I may have a couple of used bushings floating around. I will look around tonight when I get home.

I will PM tomorrow if I find anything.

Oh really?

How are these compared to the Heavy Duty endlinks that SHONUTPERFORMANCE.COM sells? I'm assuming these are closer to stock than the HD piece.

SHONUT sells the MOOG K3124 set for $42.53/pair. The AutoDrive set is the exact same part in a different box. The price also has gone up to $13 each ($26/pair) since I bought mine last winter.

O'Reilly's is in KC.

Got endlinks for both sides for O'Reillys like you said. Got them on there with a little work

Turns out, after we got the other side off, we looked at it and it was pretty close to rusting all the way though, too.

I paid $25 and change for the pair of endlinks.

thanks for all you guy's help... thumb

Now if I can get the brakes fixed... =)
