What can you tell me about this rear brake setup?

For instance

What type of Caliper is being used?
That has to be atleast a 11" rotor?
Notice that it is a 2 piece non vented rotor! of what orgin?
Could this be using some type of custom caliper bracket or possible a stock item off a different orgin?
need details please!

89-92 caliper
11.7" rotor
Custom hat
Uses the adapter bracket that everyone uses to fit 11.6" brakes on the rear.

What is this adapter bracket, and where does one obtain it?

This rotor appears to be a rear non vented (as in flat) rotor, thus makeing the stock 89-92 caliper to wide to accept such a rotor!

Does anyone have decent pictures of the adapted rear caliper bracket supplied by the 2 forum sponsors listed above!

Any further info would be greatly appricated!

If you look carefully, that is a vented rotor. It also looks like Kirk's Gen II - anyone?

I believe SHOSource has images for most of their products - look there.

Yes it is Kirk's car, and yes the rotor is vented. It is pretty much the 11.6" rear brake upgrade with a custom hat/rotor.

Here is a picture I have of the bracket:

So is it a Gen 3 front rotor that's used?

I can take a picture of the bracket tomorrow if you want.

BTW, its mostly an appearance mod, IMO.

The rear 11.6" upgrade uses a 96' - 99' SHO front SHO rotor. You need to use 89' - 91' rear calipers/ brackets as those were the only year SHOs to use a vented rear rotor. You also need the caliper bracket adapters, extra bolts, and hubcentric rings to make the rotors hubcentric on the smaller rear hub.

This is all available from SHO Bros, Sho Source, or SHO NUT. If Josh is anything like he was a couple years ago he prefers you buy these items through his resellers but with a little coaxing he might sell them directly.
