and i mean really rough, the car shakes like **** and the RPM's are all over the place until the car gets warm, even in neutral.

when i try and drive it like this it bucks and shakes really bad. but when the car warms up it runs like normal.

my friend thought it might be the EGR but i just dont want to pay any mechanic fees just to find it

could O2 sensors have anything to do with it?

what do you mean cold? 65 F ? could be the computer adjusting timing and reading a cold engine and doing what it does to keep the car running.
in other word's at cold startup there is friction from cold oil, higher oil pressure and the engine will wear till the oil heats up and is able to reach every part of the engine, i/e pistons/rings.
with that said what if the engine has high milage using conventional oil that burns up inside the engine and gums up EGR, PCV, that can cause some of the issues you have reported.

any history on your car that you know of?

Definitely not O2 Sensors.

EGR possible. Unplug the vacuum line to the EGR valve and see if cold idle improves. If it doesn't, I still would not rule out an EGR valve that is stuck open. Rare, but it does happen.

I'd be suspicious of a vacuum leak (which a stuck-open EGR valve will resemble).

Do pull codes and see if any additional diagnostic data is available from the PCM.

Kinda makes me think of the worst.

Aluminum expands more than steel when heated so maybe you have a crack that partially seals when it warms up.

alright i had them use the digital machine and these codes came up

211 (M) Ignition PIP signal was erratic or missing - Ignition System

542 (O,M) Fuel pump open, bad ground or always on - - Power / Fuel Pump Circuits

First off, what is a PIP sensor?

Secondly, need a new fuel pump?
