KOEO
219- Spout circuit failure
542- fuel pump open

KOER
116- ECT (i know, bottle has a leak...)
225- knock sensor not tested.

cylinder balance test- 9 :hail:

The 116 dosent bother me, cause the low coolant light is on, so thats what that is. But the 542, now thats strange. Maybe that is the cause of my startup hesitation.
And the 225, dose the knock sensor need to be replaced?
thanks guys... :hail: :thumb:

116 ECT has nothing to do with a cracked coolant bottle.

The ECT sensor tells the computer how warm or cold the engine is. If you are pulling a 116 code, the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. It very well could be the cause of your hard starting problems.

If you've ever stalled the car, the 542 is normal. The SpOUT code probably means the SpOUT is disconnected. The Knock sensor I have no idea about. I would say change your ECT sensor and check the spout connector and take it from there.

A disconnected spout defaults the engine to 10 degrees BTDC. It is located, I believe, on the passenger side near the firewall. I'm not totally sure, as I've never had to mess with mine. I would suggest doing a search on it. I am pretty sure I saw a thread not too long ago with a detailed picture of it's exact location.

ok i found it, but its not disconnected. i had to read a few threads to find that little f******, but i found it.
Now it will only send 10* if its not connected.
Also, wouldnt this just make the car run like crap.?
thanks again.

From what I can gather, no, it will not affect the driveability. It is often disconnected to assist in passing state emission tests. After doing a search, I read that if you are throwing that code, and the spout is not disconnected, the connection could need cleaning or there could possibly be a problem with the wiring and/or computer. I would suggest continued searching on the forum, and I'm sure other members who actually know something about the spout will see this thread and respond in time.

thanks again.
I was going to go start the car, then disconnect it, to see if there is any difference? will this hurt anything? or should i do it while the car is off then start up...

Back up a moment....

If the engine was not warmed to operating temp, that was the reason for the 116 ECT code.

For the 225 code, unless you are getting spark knock (ping), ignore it.

The 219 may be due to a faulty connection in the jumper plug. Pull the plug, clean the contacts, and reseat the plug. Might help. Otherwise, there is either an open in the wiring harness between the DIS and the PCM or one of the above modules is defective.

Thanks! now that i think of it, the car wasnt up to op-temp.
When it did the cylinder test, it knocked. I could here valve chatter. Could that have set it off? also, my timing chain is knocking, could that cause it?
I will take out the plug tomorrow, and clean it.
thanks!!!

If the SPOUT (spark output) plug is removed or the circuit is open, you will definitely notice a significant reduction in engine power and response. The engine will feel like a weak 4-cylinder engine.

Could you describe your "startup hesitation" in greater detail? A fuel pressure or secondary ignition system problem could interfere without a tell tale EEC code.
