Is there a pic somewhere of the bodykit. Other than that site since it requires you to log in.

The reason the link is not working is because the topic was moved, but I'm not sure why. The price was $725, but it was a fiberglass kit. I don't know the first thing about these, but I'm guessing fiberglass is not desirable? If I find any further info I'll post back. Sorry!

I don't see what's wrong with fiberglass. There have been a few Corvettes released with fiberglass bodies, and those seem to do okay. Also, the "power bulge" hood on certain 91 SHOs was fiberglass, so what's the big deal?

The big deal is that you are reffering to hoods and body parts and not ground effects. Since they are closer to the ground and they do have a tendancy to scrape, they need to "give" some and fiberglass doesn't do that very well. That is why many of the major body kit companies went to urethane.

This company says it's a higher strength fiberglass, if that makes any difference. For the price, your really can't beat it and it's not like people have a lot of choice of kits. :(

Sorry Bob. I just got your PM. I've been out all weekend. It's nice to see you around these parts. :)

No problem. Gaybird says you're still good with him. :D

Just a FYI, guys, the thread is back up, so the link above will work. I'll see if I can get a pic up.

Well, hopefully this topic won't turn into a flame war like it did the last time it was posted... Anyone that feels like slamming the body kit, or the use of fiberglass, take a deep breath, count to 10, drink a beer , and then think about it again thumbs_u .

Happy motoring!

Here's some pics. And I apologize if I brought up a touchy subject, wasn't aware of any flaming problems. I'm sure everybody will handle themselves like big boys and girls. :D

My thoughts were that once I was due for a paint job, or heavy dents (or God forbid) an accident requiring body work, I'd get one then.

Oh, and if memory serves, the pipes are centered like in the pic above, they're on each side in their normal spot.

I do agree with one point brought up the last time this went around, the SHO's nose is low, I tend to drag it on steep driveways and other such hazards. That kit's nose would have to be reinforced, or flexible for it to be practical.

Peace,
Dave

Hehehehe. Yeah, I'll say what I said before: I think it looks great. And yes, I'm over 30. And no I don't have a GenIII so I won't be buying one of these kits. Hehehe. Time to run and hide.

Seriously, I don't know how anybody could not like the way that body kit looks.

Fiberglass bumpers are NOT desireable!

Corvettes dont have them because even CHEVY knows that it would not last.

725.00 and 2000.00 to have your body shop install, fix, and paint them. There is no such thing as a bolt on fiberglass kit. Trust me I see them all the time at the body shop.

Ahh, you're just mad cuz I got the last hot dog. :D

I agree though, urethane would be better. They said they could make urethane for $900 and 50 order minimum. Yeah, where do I sign up?

I am the exact opposite, I don't see how anyne could really LIKE that kit. Just doesn't appeal to me. I think the SHO looks well enough with the SHO bumpers....but to each his own.

To anyone thinking of buying this... it looks great really sets the car apart. But just be warned if you put this on your car and drive it at all the kit will crack and start to fall apart. No matter how strong the fiberglass is, I would try to find a plastic kit if I were you. I have installed fiberglass body kits on cars before and almost everyone brought the car back to have the kit taken off because of these problems.

Just my .02 cents, it would make a great kit for a show car!
