So I've been fighting this for awhile now. I keep losing Coolant, and I'm baffled where/ how. I thought the Radiator was bad, so I replaced it. Didn't fix it... I thought the Coolant Reservoir was bad but couldn't find a crack. I knew it was leaking/ boiling out of the Overflow Hose but there is much stream I can't see anywhere else. I pulled the Reservoir out, boiled water and filled it, and nothing. But what is strange is that this AM it was nearly empty but when I put cool water in, it was just pouring out as fast as I was pouring it in. I did also notice that the lower Radiator Hose clamp was clamped wasn't on all the way fixed that. I also realized that my Cooling Fan isn't kicking on. I'm just so frustrated. Please help and ask any other questions. Oh, I just did a 3.2 swap and put in a new thermostat. 195deg. We swapped the Radiator a month before we did the swap. Also, it only boils out sometimes.

Change your radiator cap. Sounds like it isnt sealing properly. If the cap isnt sealing it will allow the coolant to boil over. Also, if the cap isnt sealing it will keep the system from pressurizing which will give the coolant temp sensor a lower reading which will keep the fan from coming on.

Coolant leak fixed... Overheating not! I went about 8 blocks and the needle went to the "N" on NORMAL, and then dropped to in between the "A-L" in only 2 seconds! That tells me the Thermostat is working. Then it slowly climbed up to just below the "Red" hash in about 5-6minutes. No boiling anymore, but still can't get the fan to kick on. Does anybody know what this is supposed to connect to?! Fred (rubydist) and I couldn't find the other end. He thought it was just a dead/ unused plug. This is right above the Fan.

That looks like a plug for the fog light.

Have you changed the coolant temp sensor yet? The one mounted on the side of the front head controls the fan. If its bad that will keep the fan from kicking on.

You might want to check the fan motor. It could be burnt up. Unplug the fan and run 2 leads from the battery. If it kicks on from you running direct current from the battery then you know the motor is good. If not, you will need a different motor.

Could be that you still have air in the system too. If the radiator cap was bad you could now have an air pocket in the system.

Pouring out of the overflow tank? If so, the tank is bad, even if you cannot find where the leak is.

So I jumped wires from the fan to the Battery, and the fan works. Took it for another drive this AM and became warm again. I'm thinking I got air in the lines. Would that cause my fan not to kick on though? Can I "flush" my system at home by draining the radiator from the perch and then refilling it?

the fan will not kick on because that 2-pin connector is not connected - it brings power to the ccrm for the fan.

look on the driver's side of the car on the harness for the mating connector - it brings power from the power distribution box (fuse box under the hood).
