Ehat do you giys think is involved with installing a push button starter like in the new SHO. I was thinking see if I could get the parts out of a car and putting them in mine. So my idea is to add the push button and change the igition key so it recongizes you when you are in the car and of course the wire harness.

"ignited" makes a universal kit, but doesn't have the driver in the vehicle sensing that you would like. You still have to put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position before you push the start button. I suppose you could try to custom design yourself an rf transponder setup that would work like you carry the transponder on you to the car and the reciever is somehow tied into the push button setup as a switch that won't complete the start circuit until it senses your transponder.

Seems kinda pointless to me.

How many people think to themselves "I wish I didn't have turn this key all the way to the start position. I wish I could just turn the key half way, then push a button to start my car instead."

exactly. I had to be pretty bored to respond to this question . No offense to the OP. My suggestion would be a remote starter if you want to do anything at all. At least there is some benefit to that.

I'll keep my key, new cars with this type of system run sophisticated stuff we have no dream of ever putting in our cars. The entire electrical systems on new cars run differently then they do on our old school cars. Even something as simple as honking your horn could be processed by a couple computers in a new car before power is actually sent out to the horn to make it work.
