Did you replace your rotors yourself? One thing to double check is that they're properly registered, i.e., flush against the hub face. If they're not it'll vibrate the pedal as you mention. Also, make sure all of your lug nuts are tight.

If an abs sensor or ring was cracked and was just removed, then your abs will suk, as in not function.

If that "mechanic" removed the cracked ABS sensor rings and did not replace them with new rings, find another mechanic. Check the ends of your axels. If the ABS sensor rings are missing, find a real mechanic and have rings installed so the ABS system will work properly. It is criminal in most states for a mechanic to disable a safety system, particularly the brakes. rangerj

There is a ring on the end of each axel. It kinda looks like a comb that is wrapped around the axel. This is the ABS timing ring. If your "mechanic" saw that they were cracked and removed them without replcing them, well like rangerj said, thats not so legal. Try to find a better mechanic. There's got to be somewhere you could take it to have them fix it the right way. Walk into a Midas or Mieneke or even *GASP* Firestone. See how much they would charge you to replace a broken ABS ring. You want your ABS, it is a good thing.
