Carolina Boy's the User name, Randy's the real one. Very interested in the 2013 SHO, just creepin' and trying to get as much background and possible problems before I pull the trigger. Was looking hard at the 2013 Mustang GT's until the rental folks let me drive a Taurus Limited for a week. Went by a dealer up on Gratiot while on vacation and fell in **** with the SHO.

Howdy!

The Mustang GT and SHO are two different animals for sure. The SHO is what I would call "refined performance" where it goes fast, but is less "engaging" meaning there's less steering and road feel through the suspension. Some people like that smoothness, some don't. The Mustang will do a better job of telling you what's going on, but you pay for it in a stiffer ride.

Obviously the SHO has more room too, as well as AWD so it's good in all weather conditions. Having driven both back to back, I would prefer the Mustang for track and spirited driving, but the SHO would be nice for DDing, long trips and the occasional twistys. The SHO also has more tech features. Lastly, you pay more for the SHO too.

So it depends on what you're looking for and your tastes.

Hello Carolina Boy! I'm on the boat as you! I currently drive a tune and modified 2006 STi but because the family is growing, I am looking for something more roomy but nonetheless powerful. The SHO seems like the perfect balance and AWD for the Canadian winter is a big selling point.

Thanks folks! Yeah, I'm afraid that the Mustang fever would wear off after a bit. I'm no spring chicken so a car I can grow old in is a must! HAAH!! Plus I need a little belly room as well... My current ride is an 08' TrailBlazer SS, so I CAN'T move into something slow. ;)

I have owed both, I love my 2013 SHO. There are a few things that I need to be improved on, but nothing a tune cannot take car of and louder exhaust note....

After 3 mustangs and 1998 SHO... I miss the the rumble of V8... though I must admitt the turbos spooling up is music to my ears.
