Easiest way is to go to this link and click on vehicle at top left and type your VIN. If it comes up as 3.16 you have a PP. If it shows 2.77 than it's non PP.

I opted for the performance package on my 2015 for the following reasons:
1. I wanted the higher performance brakes;
2. If I am not mistaken, on the 2015 model year there were suspension enhancements;
3. The extra coolers benefit any car. Even if not raced or driven to the limit, heat dissipation is always a benefit;

There are other features included also. For $1300 on the base price, the PP is a heck of deal in my opinion.

If the absence of a spare tire bothers you - it did me - here was my solution: Find a used wheel from a Police Interception (these wheels WILL clear the brakes), and match a used tire in a size that will give you the overall diameter of the tire/wheel package on the car, so as not to damage the AWD system should you need the spare. This solution cost me about $200 all told - the PI wheel and jack assembly came from a recycle yard in the mid west, I sourced the used tire locally for $75. The fit in trunk is OK, but not great. I can live with it, which is what matters.

It is my understanding that the 2013 PP is the only year that actually was available with both PP and adaptive cruise control.

I may be bias, but I had the same choice in the not so distant past and went with the PP. Mine is more of a daily driver than a weekend toy and the gearing , bigger brakes, and coolers just seemed to make it more fun to drive. I find the summer tires for my application to be a joke and can't wait to wear these suckers out so I can cost justify replacing with a quality all seasons (that said the summer tires do feel really good driving when it's warm and do surprisingly well in the rain). I don't know if it's a PP thing or not, but the car has every option I could possibly want to the point that my German buddy is a little shocked and almost in a state of denial that it has everything , possibly more than his Mercedes. If the cars are at a dealership, have them print you out invoices/ RPO codes on both and compare. Take both on a good test drive and don't be passive getting on the highway. I will say this on the color choice, I love my Ruby Red Metallic when it's clean, but be prepared to work hard at keeping it that way-I've never owned a car that shows dirt like this and the back side of the trunk and bumper is a huge dirt magnet.

I can't claim to have driven both, only my PP 2011.. but, I specifically wanted the more responsive steering, and cared more about acceleration than top-end (I deal with lots of stupid onramps) so I wanted the taller gearing, and have been happy with both.

Little nervous about not having a spare, but live in a very urban area with plenty of tow trucks around. I didn't know about the extra coolers being exclusive to the PP though, that's nice to learn.

get yourself a CAA membership for $100 a year (i believe it allows up to 4 tows per year , max 200km distance each, i got it for piece of mind.
