hi,
i am new to the forum and to SHOs. i am happy with my new purchase, a 1993 SHO 5spd. sorry if this is in the wrong section of the fourm but i thought this ws the best place for it.
i may be having problems with the power steering. the steering feels fine but when i start turing the wheel then the steering wheel kind of jolts like it is a force feedback sterring wheel from an arcade game, it has very touchy steering. am i just paranoid or is this a problem.
thanks guys

Time for a new rack. The internal valving has worn out or is contaminated from debris.

If you do replace the rack, replacing the rubber hoses is recommended. A complete flush along with an in-line fliter is mandatory.

well make sure that your fluid is clean and up to level first. it costs a lot less, and is much easier to change the fluid. mine was jerky, i had the fluid toped up...was a bit low, and we had to do the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) in the tranny, and the problem has not appeared again since.

Just had the rack replaced in my 93 ATX for the same reason about 2 months ago and the tugging is back  :banghd: . As I go through turns at anything over 20 mph or so the wheel will tug back in the opposite direction as if loosing boost. I also had the system flushed at the time though an inline filter was not installed. Could this be my problem? Im thinking about having it flushed again and installing the filter. I also have not completly ruled out the pump yet but I dont think that is the problem.
