So, I patched her back up today and she fired right up with a new crank sensor, timing belt, and waterpump, (along with new O-rings). So, everything is perfect except the water pump pulley is 'wobbling'. The pulley is torqued to the shaft at 30lbs, I couldn't find a torque so I just went with that. At idle it walks like it is loose but it is not. Their is no abnormal noises and no coolant leaks. Is this normal? I can't remember if my old pump did this or not. Is it possible that they sent me a pump with a bent shaft? If it isn't leaking should I just forget about it, or do I need to get a new one and tear everything apart again... headbang ...and replace it with another one.

-I've put about 15 miles on it since it pulled out of the garage, and it has had a couple full throttle runs so it is fine as of now, but hasn't been tested for a full day....Opinions?

...forgot to add this: when it is revved to 2k or above the wobble goes away and the pulley is smooth as can be...

Thanx, Doug

I just finished my lower 60k, and mine was doing the same thing... shrug

FYI, I ran mine for a while for two days with no problems. It's been in the garage since then waiting for a washer fluid pump. headbang Can't drive in the winter without one!

At any rate, I'm not going to worry about my waterpump for now, if something breaks I'll get a new one (lifetime warranty) beer

A1 Cardone reman ATX pump? I've seen a number that wobble at idle, but smooth out under load. Kind of funky, but nothing to worry about IMHO. Mine's been like that for over 30K.

I have yet to notice that problem on A1 Cardone MTX and ATX pumps that I have installed on about 20 cars. You may want to verify that the surface is clean and free of bumps on the face of the pulley mounting hub. Also make sure that the pulley is centered on the hub.

Yeah. I would pull the pulley off look around clean the area and remount it. Check your tensioner too if you adjusted it. I once torqued the tensioner pulley and it wound up angled and screwy. A readjustment and it went back to rotating normally.
