I will be cutting mine off in the next week or so... Bolt is easy to remove if you use the starter bump method as long as the bolt head is not stripped :nut:

That starter bump I would never recommend, ever. It will strip if you dont hold the breaker bar, and if you do hold it, you risk hurting yourself. A simple impact gun after tourching it will get it off.

Dude, you put a ratchet on the bolt and put it ontop of a piece of wood on the subframe and bump the starter. It is extremely safe and a common practice for the SHO guys to loosen the bolt. No one holds a breaker bar...that is just buffoonary.

Yep, we did the whole bump-start method on my 94 while we were down there. everyone was so afraid of doing it and sayying that the airgun would pop it off. Well, 20 minutes later and after everyone was fed up, i won, and one bump the damned thing was loose!:woohoo:

FWIW, nothing better than a $190, stone-age designed Mac 1/2" impact to do the trick :)

Starter bump method ANCIENT trick, no danger in that.

werd its all in the gun.... theres only really a few 1/2 inch guns out their that are actually worth their price.........

a cheap 20 or 50 or 100 dollar one won't even be half as good as a top of the line one
from Snap-on or Mac, Ingersoll Rand.....

night and day difference, u can struggle with a cheap one on a bolt for a minute, put on a different high power gun and it comes off in 1 second........

Got it off, no problem. I took it the shop where my mechanic friend works. We lifted it, oxysedelin tourched it and used a snap on socket designed for rounded bolts and a snap on air impact, and bam, came right off like nothing. Then I put it back on not super tight and drove home. Ill probably get to it this week, maybe wed or fri. Once thats done, the car will be ready to come up to this meet. Anyone else going to have a gen1 SHO?

I'll believe that when I see that. You going to meet up at my house on Sunday? We can make that the common meet point for the east coast guys since I am only 4 or so miles from 192 which takes us right to Old Town.

We need a common meet point so we can all park together or something. There is a minature golf place just to the east of Old Town. I say lets meet there at 12-12:30. Park away from the golfing so everyone can find us and then we can go right into Old Town or go elsewhere and end up back at Old Town for the night. Everyone still in? Kelvin, what about you? Todd, you still coming? If so, I'll give directions again so we can all caravan together.

I'm still not sure if I am going or not. And if I do, I will probably be SHOless unless I get everything done to the 93 before then (unlikely).
