Ok guys, I have searched around but have not been able to find any definate answers so if some of you guys can point me in the right direction it would be awesome!!...:hail:

I have an '89 SHO that is in need of some parts- the question is whether I will have to source out direct SHO parts or regular Tauri parts will be a perfect match for my SHO....

The parts in question are:
Headlights
Front Corner Lights
Driver Fender
Passenger Power Mirror...

I think that is all for now but if there is more I will also post up and maybe you guys can help again.
:thankyou:

I believe headlight and corner light are from the sable, not sure about corner light but positive on headlight. Its a sable headlight, but with the sable light there is no fish tank (the seperate lens on the headlight that has no bulb in it)

They can be had dirt cheap here Search for sable headlights, not SHO

Not sure about the rest, but almost all parts were borrowed from somewhere in fords parts bin. I'd imagine the fender is also sable but i'm not positive. Alot of people like the taurus GL hood over the SHO hood as it has a little bulge to it. Good luck

The front fender is the same as the Sable's, and the outside power mirrors are identical to slo parts also.

Headlights/corner lights will fit from Gen 1.5 Taurus/Sables. These are the cars that have a plastic strip running along the bottom of the light (body color on an SHO+, black on GL/SHOnon plus, chrome on some other models). You will know it will fit if the vehicle has the same black plastic header panel that your car has the headlights attached to.

You can fit the earlier model "UFO" style lights, however you would have to remove the header panel and plastic trim strips (which also bolt to the fender) leaving some exposed holes. These would be the corners that have vertical lines, and you will notice a marked difference in the shape of the grill on the car, and it will not have the black plastic header panel.
