I'm changing my broken subframe on my rust munched 93 atx. I got a sub out of a GL that was missing the right control arm, I swaped over the sway bar but can't use my old control arm as the ball joint is pretty sloppy. I looked online at the replacement parts and couldn't help but jaw drop at the price difference between the part listed for the SHO and the GL. As far as I can tell there doesn't apear to be any difference between the control arm from the GL and the SHO except for the coinage they want. The poor car is basically missing the right rear quarter and the rockers on both sides, I've already lost some of the body cladding! I can't see spending a hundred bucks for a SHO listed control arm if I can use a 35 dollar one for a GL or an LX. I don't drive this thing very often or very hard as I do have a black on grey 93 out of Texas that hasn't seen salt yet. I can actually wax this one without putting my hand throught it! Can anybody shed any light on this interchange for me? Thanks Guys.

I think the diameter of the ball joint pin is different. If you use the slo, it will be sloppy, unless you shim it somehow.
There have been threads on this forum showing pictures of the two units, side by side. I think it was started when someone bought a Shosource unit and noticed it was less beefy than his original. Search for that thread on here.
The SHO unit is a little beefier and is categorized under the police suspension package components.
Buy a used one on this "wanted to buy" thread in this forum, and check RockAuto.com.
