What do you guys think about welding the back doors shut with shaved door handles then sanding down the welds and painting the car? I am contemplating doing this. Will not cost anything and it will look original. Put and pic. in paint and whited out the door handles, back door line, and that black stripe that goes down the side. It looks really sleak and fast but wanted some more input. thanks guys. thumbs_u

In my opinion, that would be stupid. I bought my taurus because it had 4 doors, and I could carry 5 people in it.

But if you don't care about losing that, then go for it! It might look kinda slick actually.

Personally I think it would look dumb, since you would all of a sudden have a ton of space in the back and no way to utilize it. Then you'll see a car with 2 doors in the front, and look totally imbalanced in the rear. That's my $.02

I could see doing that if you removed the rear seat and created a large trunk space, possibly for a large stereo application or what not. Might look kinda slick. Porbably could do some high Db numbers with an open trunk like that.

Is it possible to fabricate some way to make the front seats flip forward like in any otehr two door car with a back seat? I doubt it but you never know.

Maybe someon could photoshop what this would look like?

If you get some thunderbird seats that are i think identical to the sho seats, they have the hinge to where you can fold the front seats forward. I think its the SC seats. I say do it, if your gonna customize your car, paint etc. It is your car and i'd like to see what it looks like, but i like my sho the way it is.

I agree completely with Erik. Dumb. Even if you wanted to use the space for a stereo app, the car would look really weird with two regular sized sedan doors in the front and nothing in the back. I do have to give you a lot of credit for orignality. If you could somehow weld the seams and then make a larger front door to make it look like a coupe, I think it would work. It looks fine on GTPs, but you'd have to be careful how you went about it because too short with the doors and you'd know it was a 4-door, too long and it would look weird, and you'd need to use herculean force to push your door open... I don't know if it would be possible, or if possible (since anything is with enough money) if it would be safe to mess with the B-pillars like that. They're important to the structural integrity of the car.

Yes, but look at the thunderbird door. Its HUGE. Anyone going into the back seat would have to crawl over the seat.

and yes, SC seats are the same, but you only need the hinge (rest of the seats are identical)

I agree that it would look funky sue to the front doors being so short. Also, on two door cars, the B-pillar is farther back, making getting inot therear seat more accesable. If you did not have the back doors, getting into the back seat would prove to be a painful and tiring experience. Also, it is a TAURUS, from the outside evryone would know that, and the two doors only would look BAD.

It would look strange. Ask someone for a photoshop mod using a side view.
My opinion would be to shave the rear handles & leave the door as is otherwise. It will help clean up the side of the car with out making it look like something is definatly missing. (for reference see the latest red Alfa Romeo concept. It's a four door with the rear handles on the C-pillar)

I wouldn't shave just the back handles but it might look cool if you did them all and put in door popers, of course this isn't cheep but people would definatly have to look twice. I have never seen it done on a SHO, or a SLO for that matter. I think I'd take a took in photoshop first before I did it. Just my opinion.

People see the SHO and say SLOw and when you pull up with four or five people in the Vehicle and you leave em in your smoke that's impressive I say know, but man it would look pretty sweet I admit.
