I now live in Kirkland, WA but I used to live in Atlanta, which is where I got involved with SHOs. I bought my '89 at a midnight madness sale at Stone Mountain Ford in June, 1990 - it had 12k miles. I later saw an ad in Road & Track (I'm pretty sure) for a club called the SHO Registry - I have the distinction of being the very first SHO Registry member and still keep in touch with many of the friends I met along the way. I was able to attend the first 8 Registry conventions and ran/organized (with lots of help) the 1993 convention in Atlanta.
I've been lucky enough to have had work done at FPS when I lived in Atlanta and then at the SHO Shop when I lived in LA. I have many parts/pieces on my car that were early trials and a Pro-M piece that Bob Atwood himself built and calibrated for my SHO when I was in Detroit for that convention.
I now have 190k miles on the car and just spent time replacing all of the suspension pieces and installing a new clutch. I had forgotten how much fun the car was to drive but with the addition of new tires, it feels better than it did when I first bought it.
