ok... I give....vacuum line question

Hello all.. I'm working on finalizing assembly of my 3.2 engine, and progress has been solid.. I've never had this engine completed and running myself, so I have some questions about some hose connections. I mounted the IMRC in a similar location to where it was originally, but I'm not sure about the vacuum line connections.. In particular, where is the vacuum sourced from? It does not seem like there is a readily available connector.. (The two hoses that run out of sight to the left -the one from the cannister, and the one from the electrical part are not yet connected to anything)

Hey there! Gosh, I hate starting a whole thread for such a silly question. My '94 MTX; I ain't the first guy to work on her. I am replacing some vacuum lines under the hood because dry rot is a thing. I don't know which way the purge valve is supposed to go, if direction matters, or how to test...

Thanks... I had downloaded that book and looked at that image. I must be getting old, but I don't find it to be comprehensive in terms of showing all connections.... I still cant tell where the source of the vacuum is.

I understand that the long vacuum hose runs under the intake to a tee, and then splits to the runner control diaphragms . I suppose I'll just tap into the capped large connector right above the IMRC is located.

zoomlater. thanks for the image. It is pretty helpful. I don't have that vacuum ****** that is shown as the source for the vacuum. I guess I'll tap into the larger vacuum elbow that exists.

So you saw the IMRC vacuum port in zoomlater's pic. I'm surprised your intake doesn't have one. They all do.

You are also missing the large vacuum hose that goes to the blanked off port to the right of the IMRC. That has to be present.

BayS.... Thanks very much for that info. I think the intake had been "streamlined" a bit.... I'll take a closer look at how to get something back in that area.

Main vacuum source for the whole car. The EATC for instance won't work without it, and no vacuum to the tee just outboard of the windshield wiper motor.
