2016 SHO w/pp - 20K miles. Leased it about 2.5 years ago.
Uses a LOT of oil compared to my 2013 - which also used oil but not as bad as the 2016. On the order of 1 qt every 500-1000 miles. I haven't really kept track of it, all I know is 2500 miles after an oil change, it was down like 2.5-3 quarts. My own fault. My 2013 was maybe a quart every 3-4000. I've used Mobil 1 full-synthetic in both of them.
Runs great, no issues, no obvious oil leaks except in the pictures below, which I believe is the PCV system. Still under warranty, haven't tuned it - YET. Whatever this is, I'm going to have the dealer take a look at it just so it's done by them, and have them see if it needs any calibration updates (so that pesky "flash counter" will show some flashes - LOL).
Anyway, am I right this is the PCV system leaking like that? Any obvious reasons for that? Bad PCV valve? Being new to the whole forced-induction thing I'm not sure what's involved in the PCV for the Ecoboost. Is there a valve that closes or diverts the PCV under boost as opposed to vacuum?
I remember there was a TSB for excessive oil use with a new rear valve cover (I believe) for 2015, but my 2016 was produced in December of 2015 and I thought that TSB didn't apply. Maybe it does. Anyone got a link to that?
The oil leak in question is obscured by the dirt that stuck to the oil
Side note: I was installing my K&N when I noticed this. Should I put back the stock air-box before I bring it in?
Thoughts?
