Gen II ... SO, could be a rod bearing, but if you have been driving on it for a while, it likely would have killed the engine by now. Common problem is the cam chain tensioner; my last Gen II had this. Ran fine, clack clack clack unless I was up to a certain speed though. Use a mechanics stethascope and see where the noice is coming from.

Could also have ejected a shim bucket ... seen that before too. Best bet is to bring on over to Kirk at NESHO ASAP.
