Dear All:

Anyone have a handy technique/tool for changing out the rear exhaust O2 sensor without taking the exhaust off the vehicle?

1994-ATX-3.2

Thanks.

Buy yourself an oxygen sensor socket for about 5.00 bucks (it's a 7/8" cutaway socket). Then take the rear o2 sensor out from the top of the engine. If you look you'll be able to see down between the firewall and engine. Piece of cake this way!

You can also rent/loan one out from Autozone. You get your money back when the socket(s) are returned.

BTW I tried this and still couldn't manage to remove the sensor. I ended up removing the y-pipe.

Also, I've heard/seen of a reply that says to just break off the sensor and use a normal socket to remove the remaining. Afterall, you wouldn't be needing that sensor anyway.

I used a wrench and got under the car and started taking em off i found room to make this happen dont' take off the y pipe not needed and the o2 sockets i don't really think are worth it if you can rent it try it but if you have to buy it i would deal without it. I bought one and never used it took it back next day.

Was it a box end wrench? The socket worked pretty well on the rear O2 sensor.

Periods end a sentence, Capitals start a new sentence, and a new line will signal paragraphs. ;) Good ol' MLA format :snicker:

Hmmmm... I thought sales folks weren't supposed to insult their customers. That is, if they wanted to make any sales.
