About 10 days ago I was greeted with this message as I attempted to start my 2010 SHO. After pressing the lock/unlock on the fob several times, the doors locked, and I was able to start the car. This began to happen with greater frequency (not only with my fob, but with my wife's and an extra fob I purchased and programmed.) As I became more frustrated (and fearful of being stranded), long story short: 1)placing the fob in the console slot did not work 2)all the fob batteries tested good 3)recalibrating the RFA module as per the TSB did not work. After allowing the dealership to play with car for three days, the tech called and said out of frustration (before he called Ford headquarters to ask them for direction) he changed the batteries in the fobs, and everything was back to normal, and all fobs function normally. His take was even if the batteries tested good, they may have been putting out only 2.8volts, instead of 3. The cars in this new high tech electronics era are very sensitive voltage fluctuation, he said. For now the car seems fine, the fobs all work, and I am crossing my fingers. Words to the wise, change your fob battery first if you experience this type of problem. By the way the only charge was the cost of the batteries - can you believe that! TBW

If your Ford vehicle comes with a battery or a gadget with a battery, expect to replace it regularly. Many electronic gremlins come down to that a majority of the time! BTW, how did you test the batteries? Do you know what brand battery the dealer replaced with?

Glad they only pinched you for the cost of the batteries :)

I tested the batteries with a Radioshack multi-tester. Ford replaced them with Energizer CR2032's: The originals were Panasonics. TBW
