Did anyone ever had that? I never had "check engine" light ever come on in my car, even just with ignition on. I tried to scan my car with computer and it couldn't be read too. I had my car bucking one day like crazy and nothing came on. Sometimes I feel it runs rich and back fires too, after it gets really warm, and I can't check nothing.

Check the codes manually with a paperclip , if the bulb does not light up at all rip out the cluster , replace the bulb and try again . If you do that and still nothing I'd say bad computer .

as for bulb being bad, I checked it before and even replaced it with the one i have for abs light(which is constantly on) and still no use. Car runs, sort of fine, other than slightly back fires when gets hot(may be because of cold air intake and bigger Maf) but I don't remember that happening before, unless , because i drive this car 3000 miles per year , the most, spark plugs go bad.
But regardless of that, no light or sign of it.

Also, even if computer was bad, wouldn't it run like crap, or not run at all?

I had this exact problem. I could not read/pull codes and had no check engine light. Car ran bad too. Thought I had a bad computer. So I pull off the connector to replace the computer and noticed that the electrical pins in the connector were not in place. Several of the pins were pushed to the back of the connector far enough to not make contact with the pins of the computer. I pushed all of the pins back in place and reconnected the connector and everything worked again.

I'll try that one too, thanks. if nothing else would work, I'd replace computer just to see, what's going on.

I'm back. Took computer plug off, inspected everything, looks very good, the only thing I noticed is that on connected where you plug in your scan tool, that small gray plastic connector doesn't have any wire in it and I couldn't find any loose wires anywhere. Any thoughts?

Im not sure where the wire would have gone, but there should be one. Someone with more sho wiring knowledge could probably tell you where it should be routed from. As far as your car not running right, if you have a different maf and no LPM that could definitly be an issue. What maf is it? I have seen a car with a Mark VIII 80mm that struggled to get to redline in 2nd due to no lpm. The owner reinstalled the stock maf and reset everything. Now it pulls strong all the way. The tuning is key when it comes to running a different maf.

I can't dissagree with you on that, but is it possible, since the car had LPM and was tuned and then LPM was pulled out, this is the reason of MIL light not even showing on start?

I have never heard of that. Mine has and LPM and my check engine light works with or without the lpm. I checked on mine and both plugs (the large and small) wiring comes out of the same short bundle running just under where the plugs attach to the holder. Maybe yours broke off flush with or further back from where they are wrapped together. I would take off the wire looming to see if you can find it and repair it.

I will probably try and pull computer out of my parts car and see if that will help.

Before I did that I would try and find the missing wire and repair it. I put some info in my prior post that may help the search.

Also, just swapping computers probably wont do anything for your running issue.

ok, I think something is wrong on the car's side. checked everything even swapped computers from another car and still nothing. Used paperclip again and nothing.I think someone put that one wire in a wrong place, but I still cannot communicate with computer.
