NGK plugs

Anyone use NGK spark plugs in the SHO? Any thoughts about them?

I am aware of the AGSP32PP plugs designed for the SHO, but I am weary of the "new" plugs motorcraft put out. I was wondering if there were any alternatives as good as the AGSP32PP. NGKs I have heard fit fine since they're a Japanese spec plug I was just wondering what people thought about them.

I've got a set of the NGKs in my car and didn't notice any difference over the Motorcrafts.

i agree.

those are mostly designed for import cars. they are good for the specified cars, also more expensive than your typical spark plug.

Aren't the AGSP32PP obsolete and no longer being produced? The NGK plugs are fine for the SHOs. More than likely the manufacturer of the Motorcraft SHO plug anyway.

Guys... the AGSP32PP plugs have simply been re-assigned a new number... they're the same plug. I went to ford a week ago to inquire about this issue. The Denso plugs fit perfectly also... in fact, Denso, well, NipponDenso makes the Motorcraft plugs. Densos can be bought locally but are a bit more expensive than the Motorcraft Plugs.

Bosch plugs are too tall.... how can ford be using them in a SHO application?

Exactly, not good with a SHO engine. The spark plug wires do not seat properly with them causing stuff to get in your plug wells and causing misfires and wear on the wires and fouling of the plugs.

From what I have been told all Motorcraft plugs have been redesigned which is the reason for the new number. Should still fit but it is not exactly the same plug with a new number.

Actually, Bosch plugs are not a good idea for any Ford DIS/EDIS ignition.

I've said this before a few times ...Bosch makes some good products for the Ford Taurus (SHO included), but spark plugs aren't one of them.

i just pulled my platinum 4's out and put in the AGSP32PP ones back in. ive only got about 200 miles on them so i havent really had a change to see how big of a difference there is.

I have NGK Iridiums and they are too tall. They work great as long as I don't wash the engine.

I have platinum 4's in my car right now and I've had them for about 700 miles. The idle seems to be more ruff than before, in fact I could never feel it running until after my front 60k with plugs. This could be from the wires too, I'm not sure. I almost want my old plugs back now.

Really guys... Motorcraft or Denso. They both are great (create a tight suction between the pug boot and the valve cover) thumb and Denso can be bought loclly at Autozone for about 2.00 a piece. No ordering involved. Also, i compared the Denso w/the "new" motorcraft sparkplug and they're identical from what i can tell. Perhaps the change is in the construction of the plut i.e. materials used, process etc.

Sounds like I'll be going to Autozone for those Denso's! slap Yeah uh, I didn't look into this before I bought them. So are the bosch platinum plugs not good for any application, or just our SHO's DIS/valve cover type?
