Newbie w/a 2016 Black SHO

Hi All,
I recently bought my SHO from a local Ford dealer when it came off lease w/ 18K miles. It now has 28K miles on it and I absolutely love it. I've recently purchased the Livernoise software to upgrade the horsepower & torque. But would like to take it to a dyno so I could see before and after changes with this software.

Has anyone done this and what were the results?

Also, has anyone changed any of the parameters using FORScan? I'd love to get rid of the double honk when I exit the car when the engine is running and have the fob in my pocket.

Anyway will spend much time reading the threads of the other SHO owners.

Your LMS tune is underpowered and not safe. If there is anyway to return the tuner and anything else bought from them and get your money back please consider it. There are numerous threads on this website with terrible stories about their junk LMS tunes.
Please do some research and spend some of your hard earned money on another vender/tuner that has not abandoned this platform. You will make more and safer power. It has been proven time after time.

Change at least your PTU fluid as soon as possible. At 28K your just in time to get to it before it’s too late.

Thinking down the road, you might want to consider an extended Ford warranty just before the current one runs out. There are discount Ford sellers on the internet and you can choose from different levels of coverage. Just food for thought. TT and AWD has alot of expensive things that can require attention.

Thanks for all the feedback. A dyno shop recommended this tune. Other than opening the box, I've done nothing else. What tune works for the SHO's? Mine is a non PP SHO. Did not know the difference.

I will get the parts & fluid to change the PTU. Isn't this the same engine in the Explorer & F150 with AWD? Do they also have to change the PTU regularly?

Oh, I almost forgot. That my SHO came with 100K mile drivetrain warranty. So Turbos, trans, engine, waterpump are covered.

Notice the verbiage about electrical part, and tuning devices, basically the expensive stuff cannot be returned.

I'd throw in something witty right here like, ask my how I know, but I'm sure you've figured it out by now.

Like they said, switch tuners and chalk it up to a learning experience, before it becomes a much more expensive learning experience. Most of the parts can be used for your next tune, so you're really only out the tuner, that's a drop in the bucket compared to most parts in these cars.

Thanks, I just looked at my receipt and I've had it more than 30 days which is the mandatory cutoff for returns no exception.

No one likes to hear they just wasted their money. But also no one likes to hear "Told you so". You're probably going to hear a boat load of "Told you so" if you just install everything anyway. You might be lucky and everything seems dandy for a while. 2013+ SHO's particularly have a lot of problems with their tunes. I'd say you're lucky now bc you haven't flashed their tune yet. One thing though, the dash pounding 2nd gear shift is just plain ridiculous in their transmission tuning. Just so you know......theres no reason for that harsh shifting. Dangerous fuel trims as well. Driveability issues.......dont buy their spark plugs either lmfao.....sp534 plugs are stock. They charge like an additional $50 bc they pre gap them? Take it from another guy with an LMS tuner sitting in a nightstand drawer....Id rather have $500 cash sitting there instead. Can't even bring myself to give it to someone else, let alone sell it.

I heard the LMS MyCalibration device really enjoy eating calibers bigger than 9mm.

Thanks for the info. I've contacted a local AWD Dyno tuning facility in the Atlanta area called DBW Motorsports and will let you know how it turns out. They had never heard of LMS. However they are excellent at tuning the 3.5 Ecoboost engines on Mustangs and Raptors. Their reviews are excellent. I think I will be their first SHO.
