Hey everyone. My name is Dan. I just picked up my first SHO last week, althoough I've been a fan for years. I picked up a `95 MTX with just under 130k on it. It needs a few touch-ups here and there, but overall runs and drives great. I'm not sure what maintenance the previous owner did, so I'm going to look into doing a 60k service. Is there anything else I should check or service? Hopefully I'll have pictures up soon. I have to wait for the rain to stop so I can detail it. lol

Welcome, and as for things to check for service if it's running fine and no major hiccups or leaks just drive it. But if you're not using it for a daily driver and really want to do the 60k go for it..

I am currently using it as my daily driver, but I have a spare vehicle. It seems to be running without a problem right now, but I see everyone on here talking about the 60k maintenance and I really have no idea what has and has not been serviced on the car.

It involves timing belt, cam seals, intake and valve cover gaskets.. Valve shims, water pump various sensors.. Just common wear items that are rather pesky to replace on their own. I would just check your front plugs and plug wells. if there is no oil in the wells, and the plugs look good. Also, if its not leaking oil or coolant from the front of the motor (drive belt system) i would just change the oil and drive her!

I have noticed that if I don't let the car warm up for a couple minutes (even when it's not really cold out) the car hesitates a little between 1500 and 3k rpm. Is this just a normal SHO thing or a sign I should be taking a closer look at the car? Thanks for the responses so far!
