New tune

Hello guys! I’ve had a 2015 Taurus sho for about 2 1/2 years now and thinking about getting a tune. I’m at about 64k miles and have had no problems at stock so far. I’m currently looking at the LMS tune since I live in Michigan. I really don’t know what else to look at and I’m pretty new to all of this. Could use somebody’s help! Thanks!

what are you looking for? There's a few options bouncing around the forum. Gearhead, Ortiz and AJPturbo seem to be popular choices currently.

You need to post this in the Gen IV-V section for the newer cars. This is GenI & II older 89-95 cars.

The biggest question you need to ask yourself is are you the kind of person that slaps a tune on and you're happy with it, or are you the kind of person wanting to experiment with your car, wanting to try multiple tuners and see what works best for you?

If you are just ready to tune and leave it be after, then LMS may be fine for you. I can't comment on their tuning practices beyond what I see posted in here and on Facebook.

If you want to try multiple tuners to see who works best for your needs and driving style/performance goals, then I would suggest getting an SCT handheld then you can try any of the multitude of tuners available for the platform, us included.

@Irish Pride, can you move this to the Gen 4 forum so he can get more input?

I can comment. LMS is over priced plug and play TRASH. They are on probation on numerous forums and blacklisted from tuning other companies aftermarket parts.

You are better off going with an SCT based tuning device and selecting a reputable tuner.

I recently went through a horrible experience with someone who has been around for 20+ years and they knew me.

15 revisions of a mild tune for a 2018 before it even got close to OK, and I didn't even load the last one because I just gave up. Oh and I was past the end of the return policy by then.

Another thread with lms bashing? I forget where to begin. I've seen hear say on here. I've felt hear say when driving it and I seen the hear say with their tune with my sct dataloging. Where say else can I look?

I agree...that's kind of the whole point behind these forums...share information and help out the community...

I went with gear head, and am happy. They offer a tune that allows auto octane feature.
