I recently became the proud new owner of a 91 SHO plus. Thank you!
I need a few questions answered. 1. How do you put the alarm system in "valet mode" where is the button? 2.Can you open the trunk with the key fob? My key fob has two buttons, Arm & Disarm. 3. I need a rear body panel. (apparently this is an issue with these cars) I called a ford dealer today and was told the part is discontinued. I checked after market vendors and have not found it there too. Any help would be appreciated.

Your alarm system is aftermarket. I suggest finding out what brand it is and then directing your questions to the proper knowledge base.

As for your body panel, I would try the junkyards. Depending on what panel you need, it may be non-SHO-specific. Clarifying your particular panel would also help. I would post in the WTB section and maybe the help section that pertains to your need.

Good luck! :thumb:

The alarm system is the Ford vehicle security systems & remote keyless entry. They offered three versions. Standard, Remote and Remote Plus. I have the original pamphlet that explains all the features but not the instructions.

The "rear body panel" is the rear metal panel the license plate attaches to. Starts under the trunk and attaches to the trunk floor. It's a weld on panel. not to hard to install but becoming hard to find. Mine is rusted out pretty bad.
So about that alarm system. I have a red light that flashes when the ststem is armed. It's left of the steering wheel on the dash panel. I just discovered it not just a light but a lighted button! Could this be the valet button? how does it work? When I push it, the light stops flashing but it rearms itself. All I want to is have the car stop arming itself. It's a pain in the ***!

It has to be an aftermarket alarm. If not then someone may have bought and aftermark key fob. The only thing I could think to try is try pressing both buttons at the same time.

Yep, a key fob would have necessitated a keyless module switch. To the best of my knowledge, no '91 SHOs had remote keyless straight from the factory.

I agree they may not of come out of the factory with the keyless remote but they left Ford dealerships with a "Ford Vehicle Security systems & remote keyless entry" My key fob says "Ford Security system"
