New SHO Owner

Hi I am Kevin, recently purchased a 15' SHO 401A w/PP, WPM, NAV .. this is my second White Platinum Taurus, first was a 13 SEL AWD w/ all the goodies..

Thanks guys, i did order it. However, this was the only WPM w/PP unit available and it was 6 hours away (it was in Ottawa and i am in Waterloo). The wait was a few days. If i had to order with this spec, i would have had to wait up to 12 weeks .. (due to Ford summer shut down and/or stopped building 15's)..

It is a really nice driver.. this is how cars should be built. Biased, i know, but it's truth ...

Hey Kevin, congratulations! I ordered the same one (except no Nav) on Monday. Hoping to get a build date/VIN sometime next week. What tires did it come with? Supposedly, they come with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar. What do you think of them especially in the rain if you got them on yours. A bit peppier than your SEL, huh!

Mine came with 245/45 ZR Eagle F1 Supercar rubber and the first time I had the car out on a road trip I got caught in a heavy rain, tires worked fine.

I'm sure that they're not as bad as some of the reviews I read, but they're pretty consistent in saying the tires are poor at best in wet traction. My dealer has changed out tires for other customers in the past and I'm hoping that they will for me. I don't think they'll go for the expense of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport or Pirelli P Zero. The BF Goodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2 has great reviews and aren't as expensive as the other two.

Tires are fine .. mind you, i have not dropped the throttle like i would on a dry day but they perform great!

Anywhere online. Just google them. Pretty pricey though. 200 bucks. Depending on tire size, you may have trouble getting them to fit over calipers. Easier to just paint the calipers. And cheaper

Carid.com- wheels&tires -caliper covers . Don't look under 2015 you won't find them. Look under 2013 Ford Taurus sub-model SHO . They fit my 2015 SHO/PP perfect! Super easy to install faster and easier than painting and I've had cars before with painted calipers and KNOW-ONE has ever mistaken them for Brembos like all the service guys at ford when I had the car in for its first oil change! Everyone who looks at the car even non car people compliment the brakes. After many twisty back road romps and several trips into triple digits they haven't budged at all. Well worth $200 bucks.

Hey Mark, since you know motorcycles, and I've got a buddy swinging by the convention on his 2 wheeler with a chevy 350 in it, that got me thinkin. Ever give any thought of a 3.0 Yamaha SHO motor powered Bike? Just sayin, 220hp belt drive, you could be the first.
