New SHO owner - 2013 nonPP. Love Fords, and I love my SHO. Tricked the wife into getting a "family car".

Are there any mods that can be done in California (legally), other than exhaust?

Welcome to SHOwnership! (and to the forums!)

Bahahahahahahaha!!! NICE! :woo-hoo:

Tuning will be your single biggest bang for the buck. The two most popular tuners are Livernois (whom I went with) and Unleashed by Torrie. Livernois stage 4+ tune is friggin' awesome. A good 80 horses added to that already fine stable.

Wider downpipes seem to be the next best upgrade at that level (someone correct me if that's wrong), and you can get catted downpipes, so you should be good there. Once that's done, you move on to Meth injection, etc., though I have no idea if that's legal in CA or not. I can't imagine why not, since it's a coolant and octane enhancer, it's not the same as nitrous. But I'm not a laywer.

That was a new car present from the wife. I am a die hard Bruins fan, and I get to show it on the road. Stickers just aren't big enough. And with the magnet, I can move it where I want.

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on your '13 SHO! Sorry no mods for you CARB-loving Californians ;) J/K!

Tune + Colder TStat + 3 bar map will get you moving pretty quick, for relatively cheap. Then come the other mods like methanol injection, mixing with E blends, bigger turbos, better downpipes, catbacks, and, I believe, a slightly modified Airaid CAI.

If you want to go all out, you can have the block rebuilt to spec, add traction bars, adjustable end links, and what not. Have a look at bpd1151's latest iteration for ideas.

Welcome aboard....Go Bruins!! You do mean Boston Bruins right? not UCLA

I am not sure of the performance mods for Cali but I have a good recommendation for audio mods that are 50 state and fairly easy cheap.....

Kenwood KFC-6895 Speakers for doors that should be a good start towards a good sound system.

Welcome. I used the same trick on my wife to replace the Explorer a few weeks ago. I told her it gets better mpg and its still a family car. When she saw it sitting on the show room floor, she said I'll take it.

I am thinking about the tune and down pipes.
