I traded a guy my snowmobile for his SHO, car seemed fine when i drove it in winter but now when i registered it in spring im having problems. its a 95 SHO auto with 160,000 kms. the car seems sluggish and sputters at lower rpm when i try to accelerate, when i give it more gas and it downshifts drives better but still seems to chug a bit. another problem is when accelerating full throttle at about 6000rpm the engine ticks, loud enough to notice in the car with the windows rolled up. i dunno if its just me but the car seems slow (cant break the tires loose from dead stop) and if it helps the car has a K&N cone filter and i put new premium gas in it. i think the sputter problem would be a fuel issue but have no idea about the ticking. please help out a new SHO owner.

ok, ive been doing some searching

551- kinda confused about, gonna look into it a bit more. if someone could clarify what exactly im supposed to do about this that would be nice

212-anyone have a picture of the spout connector, i looked by the firewall behind the strut tower and couldnt find anything. are there any more?

167-"no throttle position change" i guess i messed up the the test and thats nothing to worry about, right?

225-knock sensor, i guess thats what the ticking is at high rpms. should i change the sensor?

well i just changed the wires and plugs. i found the spout connector and it was connected. the car runs better, high rpm tick at WOT is gone. low end sputter seems to be mostly gone, still a little appearent and the car still is pretty slow. since the wires and plugs helped maybe changing the ignition coil would be a good idea?

winnipeg, id definetly appretiate some help

hehe, unfortunaltly thats a little far, was hoping you were closer, a easy thing to do is taking your intake off and cleaning it out, there is alot of crap that builds up inside it, carbon and such, in the egr nostrils and such, i will do a search and try and find some articles pertaining to that stuff, clean engine is a happy engine lol, i wonder why mine is so moody hehe.

well theres no vacume leak. did find out that the selenoid is not getting signal to open the intake runner valaves (guess it might be the wire or computer), but even when i rigged the valves to stay open it was still slow. i think im gonna do a compression check, clean the maf and reset the codes and see if i come up with anything else. anyone got some other suggestions?

to narrow things down, i cleaned the maf and that didnt do much. pulled all the plugs and did a compression check at WOT, 220psi in 4 of the cylinders, one had about 230psi and another about 223psi. i dont know if i have to pull the positive off the battery to reset the codes, but i pulled the negative and left it overnight. drove for a bit and got the exact same codes?!?! even if the intake runner valves were working would the computer cause other problems making the car slow. i dont think the knock sensor would effect performance. the car start fine so i dont think it would be a fuel problem. im confused as ****.
