Hi

Apparently I've been a member of this forum for a while, Chrome had my account saved although I don't recall ever creating one.
Anyway, here I am.
Today I closed a deal on a 2010 SHO non PP with a few mods on it. Picking it up tomorrow.
Will need to learn how to use the tuner provided, hope to find some info about it.
First tuned car, had a 2.5T Volvo years ago but again, not tuned.

Yes, first Ford.
Always been a Mazda fan, currently own an Gen I 6-V6 and was looking to buy a Gen II but came across this SHO and decided to give it shot. I live in Ontario's snowbelt and AWD is always welcomed.
Also own an R52 Pathfinder and recently sold my Sienna AWD.
Lots to learn.

kind of already in the Ford family then LOL. Have not had the chance to drive a 6-V6, but we did have an 88 626-L4 NA that was not only fun to drive but comfortable as all getout. Economy & Sport Modes! Miss that car to this day.

Welcome. I've driven a Gen1 6-V6 and thought it was a nice car. What tuner is it/who is it tuned by?

Got an SCT X4 with the 93 octane tune. According to the website it adds 80 hp, is that accurate?

One question, my SHO also came with a Corsa exhaust, not sure which or what, I just know that it sounds nice but it drones.
Reading the manual for the X4 tuner I found an option to "Disable the Rear O2s and eliminate CEL caused by rear O2 removal" which made me think if those sensors were removed and if so, what will happen next time I need to go for an emissions test (every 2 years).
Should I be worried? How do I check?
Thanks in advance.

The O2 sensors were most likely not removed but some tuners may have turned them off, especially with aftermarket downpipes as most even with cats will throw a code. If you have stock down pipes you should be able to turn the o2s back on(if they are turned off now) let the monitors set and that's it. If you have aftermarket DPs with either no cats or many even with cats will throw a code for cat inefficiency and you would have to swap them out, turn the o2s on, and let the monitors set before getting tested.

IIRC the downpipes are stock, no headers for sure. I recall the downpipes looking much older than the rest of the exhaust. Pre-cats were there.
I just fueled for the first time, had a hard time finding 93 octane fuel, luckily a station pretty close to my house carries 94.... ouch !...$1.4 CAD/liter ~ US$ 4.1/gallon. Will have some fun with it while I learn how to use the X4 and tune it down to 87 for daily use.
