New member/SHO owner

Hello all,

New member here introducing myself and showing off my new baby. I've owned several Mustangs in the past, '82 GT, '89 5.0 notchback, '96 Cobra, '05 GT but this is my first SHO and I gotta admit, I'm in love. I special ordered her with Deep Impact Blue, Charcoal int, 401A group, PP, and moonroof. Her birthday was 5/30/2015 and I took delivery 6/13/2015.

Looking forward to joining the community and getting to know fellow SHO owners to share info and experiences.

Welcome to the forum, ArtieDeco, and congrats on this '15 beauty! Ford does the blue paint schemes especially well There is definitely a SHO community out your way, and you may see some of them on Dyno Day. You may even run into shoman04, he has a 2011 Kona Blue.

Welcome Artie! I think you'll find the SHO Forum most informative and a great bunch of guys to boot. I'm also a Mustang guy and my '10 was my first SHO. I love that car, but I got a '15 in Platinum White getting built on 7/6. This one will have the PP though. Your Deep Impact Blue looks pretty darn sharp!

how do you guys order new cars like that? ive been told they dont do that they simply find one at another dealer and ship it to the one your at. Do you have to pay full sticker?

If you know what you want and are serious about buying, you tell the dealer what it is you are looking for. If they don't have what you want on their lot, they try to find one at another dealer. I really wanted the deep impact blue, but one didn't exist with all the options I wanted, so they special ordered it. It took a little over six weeks to come in, but definitely worth the wait. I figure you pay a premium when buying a new car, immediately take a depreciation as soon as you drive it off the lot, so it should be exactly what you want. And I did not pay sticker price, I suppose that depends on how willing the dealer is to work with you on the price.

Are you happy with the SCT tune? I've read livernois does a good tune but I haven't talked to anyone who has done it. Also, does anyone know why Ford Racing doesn't offer any performance upgrades for the SHO? That makes no sense to me.

I'm happy with the tune, if I had to do it over I would pay a little more for LMS only reason is I'm buying all my parts / upgrades from them but SCT can make custom tunes as well. Ford doesn't offer parts I think because there is no demand... Just guessing? Not a lot of SHOs on the road. I do love the X4 from SCT it's a cool device for the price.
